This guide was created to help you with the setup of Mail Page. See what can be configured and how you can do it.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Log in to your Confluence instance as an administrator.

  2. Open the Confluence general administration.
    1. Click on the Find new apps link in the sidebar.
  3. Enter "Mail Page" in the search field (marked by the text "Search the Marketplace"), then press Enter.
  4. Click on "Free trial" to test the app for 30 days, or click on "Buy now" if you want to purchase a license for Mail Page.
  5. You'll be prompted to register for or log into MyAtlassian.
  6. Mail Page will be automatically downloaded and installed after you log-in.

Configure Mail Page.

Navigate to Confluence Administration → Mail Page → Configuration.


Maximum length of a side of an image in pixels

Enter the pixel value (number only - (tick) 200 (error) 200px) of the side length of an image here.

Images larger than the value entered here will be scaled down.


Default mail server for the app

Select the mail server which Mail Page should use to send mails.

You can select only the mail servers already configured in your Confluence system.


Recipients limit

Enter the number of recipients your mail server can handle at once (as in: in a single e-mail).

The default are 100 recipients for one mail.


Which logo do you want to be displayed in the header of the email?

Select use site logo to display the logo of your Confluence instance.

Select use space logo to display the logo of the space in which the page is located within.


Don't forget to click on the Save button at the end to confirm your changes.

Share a page via mail.

Open any Confluence page you wish to share.

At the top of the page, you will find a menu bar. Click on the Send page button to open Mail Page.


Sender information

Select the sender of the mail.

Usually you can choose between the system user (confluence@your-confluence.com), your personal Confluence user (your-name@your-confluence.com) and a custom sender, where you can enter the sender's mail and name.


Recipient(s)

Enter the recipients in this field.

If you wish to send a page to a Confluence user, enter their name and Mail Page will list all users who exist in your system and match the data you entered. 

If you wish to send a page to a Confluence group, enter the group's name and Mail Page will list all groups that exist in your system and match the data you entered.

If you wish to send a page to an external user, enter their e-mail address.


Subject

The subject/headline of the mail you send.

Per default, the title of the page will be automatically entered here. You can change it to whatever you want, of course.


Notes

Enter a message to your recipient here. This message will be displayed within the mail, just above the Confluence page.

Use this field to explain something visible on the page or just to remind your recipient(s) why you are sending them this page.
