What is the language filter for Linchpin Enterprise News?




If Linchpin Enterprise News is used together with the Language Manager, the News Hub now offers a filter by language. Please note, for the language filter is to be configured, an assignment of languages via the Language Manager is necessary.

IMPORTANT Make sure your installed version of the Language-Manager-plugin is at least version 2.6.3!


How do I set up the language filter for Linchpin Enterprise News?




To use the filter, you need to activate it in the administration first.

To do so, click on the gear wheel icon and then on News. In the sidebar under "Linchpin Enterprise News" click on "Configuration". Within the configuration, click on "configure filters", then on the  "+ Add filter" button. In the dialog, give your filter a name of your choice and select "Languages" in the filter type. Then you can choose the languages this filter can select from or leave the field empty to offer all languages for selection.

Don't forget to save this configuration and the changes.

After saving the configuration of the filters, there is now another filter in the news hub. Based on your saved configuration it could look similiar to this:

No Language configured, a.k.a. field is left empty,  in the filter "Languages" for the Linchpin Enterprise News.



IMPORTANT In order for this filter to find results, you must assign languages to news using the Language Manager. Please note, if news do not have a language assignment, they will not be displayed. Only when you add news to a language can it be found with the filter. For existing assignments, it may be necessary to initially rebuild the index.

I don't see the filter "language". What's wrong?


If you don't see this filter type, the Language Manager is either not up-to-date or not installed at all. Please check your Language Manager version or install it. To use this feature, your Language Manager plugin should be at least version 2.6.3!

After that procede as above. (wink)



Note: If the the Language Manager is deactivated, the filters are no longer displayed in the Admin and in the News Hub.
