What is the inbox
Your inbox will feature all notifications relevant to you.
You will find your inbox in the upper right corner of the screen. To open your inbox, click on the notifications bell button.
Functions of pings
Our notifications are called pings. Pings offer several functionalities, mostly hidden within the context menu.
To open the context menu, hover over the ping and click on the three dots menu button.

Links
Every ping is a clickable link. Click on the ping and you will be taken to the relevant post, comment, or news.
Mark as read / Mark as unread
New and unread pings will be marked as such.
Every time you click on a ping, it will be automatically marked as "read".
However, if you don't want to open the according news, comment or post, you can mark pings as read/unread from the context menu.
Delete
Is you inbox too full?
The context menu offers a delete button.
Follow / Unfollow
In some cases a news article or a post can be very popular and generate a lot of pings.
Another possibility is that you simply don't wish to receive further updates on a post/news you previously found interesting.
To stop receiving pings for the according news/post, click on the unfollow button.
Notification center
You can decide what notifications you wish to receive - and how you wish to receive these notifications.
You can access the notification center by clicking on your avatar in the upper right corner of the screen and choosing My settings → Notifications. Alternatively, click on the Pings icon and then on the Settings button.
You can set up mail, ping (in-client, web) and push (mobile) notifications individually for every kind of notification (for example: comment on my comment or new posts).
Click on the according notification button to activate or deactivate individual notifications. If the button is filled in with color, the notification is active. If the icon is crossed out, the notification is deactivated.
