Set up app categories

To access app categories, click on the rack icon in the header and select "Apps".

In the sidebar, click on "Configuration" and then on "Categories" underneath the Launchpad.

To create a category simply put in the name of the category in the field and click on "Add".

The more apps you offer, the more categories you should define to make it easier for users to find what's important to them.

You can also define sub categories, this let's you sort your apps even better!

How to create new apps

To create new apps in the Launchpad click on the rack icon, on "Apps" and then on the "Create new app" button.

Next, fill out the form. Additionally, you are able to add a short description, dedicate it to a specific department, upload an app icon, add labels, or add the app to a category.

Filling out the description offers more information on the app's functions.

The red star behind App title and URL marks this information is obligatory.

Safety Guidelines

We strongly recommend the following Confluence configuration settings to avoid potential security risks:

Make sure people are not allowed to register their own accounts, especially without restriction to your domain.

If you allow anonymous access, make sure anonymous users don't have permission to create or edit anything anywhere (pages, blogposts, comments, attachments etc. in any space).

If you configure your instance differently, you do so at your own risk.
