Problem

When connecting to Linchpin Mobile Gateway the 'URL connection' connection test fails due to an error.

Cause

If this test fails the Confluence server is not able to access hosts in the public internet. Most common causes for this are:

  • There is not internet connection available.
  • The internet connection is blocked by a firewall.

Resolution

Check the network setup of the Confluence server environment and configure it correctly.


Example: On Linux hosts you can check internet access on the command line using curl like this:

curl https://www.w3.org/
