How to configure the subline

In the Profile Editor of Linchpin User Profiles, first enable the edit mode of profile headers by clicking on the button with a pencil icon in the top-right corner:

A sidebar opens and allows to select one profile field which to configure as subline:

The content of this profile field will be displayed in the header area of Confluence user profiles, right below the Full name:

Of course, you can choose to not define a field that's used as subline. In this case, or if there's no content in the connected profile field for certain users, the layout adjusts accordingly.

Further effects of defining a subline

The configured subline will also influence the following features of Linchpin User Profiles:

In all of the above, Linchpin User Profiles renders small user panels which include the full name, profile picture and one additional profile field with more information. To determine which profile field is displayed, the profile header subline configuration is used.

In the People Directory table layout (also referred to as list view), the columns that will be displayed are mapped to the profile header values as well. For more information, visit People directory (Table layout: define content).

The vCard (displayed when hovering over Confluence usernames) by default uses the profile header fields as configured in the Profile Editor, but it also allows custom field selection, including for the subline. If you'd like to adjust what is displayed as subline in vCards, navigate to Confluence administration → Linchpin → User Profiles → Profile editor. There, switch to the vCard tab, click on the Edit button with a pencil icon in the dark grey profile header area (top-right corner) and choose Individual Selection as Content.
