Hardware
If the touchscreens are used exclusively for Linchpin Touch, a processor equivalent to Intel Core i3 (2Ghz +, e.g., i3 6100U) is enough. For security we recommend at least 8GB RAM.
Here we can recommend Intel Core i3 (2Ghz +) or equivalent / better and for security 1GB RAM.
The hardware should have an infrared or capacitive sensor technology. Both are equally suitable for Linchpin Touch.
A full-HD resolution of the screens (16: 9 / 1920x1080 pixels) is essential for an optimal presentation of the content.
As a browser, Google Chrome 56+ must run smoothly on the selected hardware.
Operating System
The operating system should be one of the following (Minimum requirements):
- Windows 7 or
- OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or
- the popular Linux distributions in LTS (Ubuntu 14.04+, openSUSE 13.3+, Fedora Linux 24+)
Browser
At this point we fully support Chrome as a browser. It offers the best results and performance.
You can try running Linchpin Touch on other browsers, but you'll probably have some issues with design and performance.
Additional software and recommendations
Linchpin Touch ignores any inputs from a keyboard aside from the escape key. This is to prevent people from plugging a keyboard into the device and try to play minesweeper. As an additional measure of safetey you might also want to prevent physical access to USB or other ports on the device.
