Problem



An user is deleted, but the image for the unknown user still exists and is visible, for example, when creating a @Mention. This is an issue of Confluence 6.15.6.

Workaround

To remove the profile picture of a deactivated or deleted user follow these steps.

  1. Create an internal user with the username of the deleted user
  2. Go to the user administration in the Confluence administration area
  3. Click Delete Profile Picture for the internal user
  4. Delete the internal user again
