Linchpin Hack

Check out our Linchpin Hack for MS Teams below. Please note the following Linchpin Hack is currently only available in German 🇩🇪.

How to add chat buttons for MS Teams

Navigate to Confluence administration → Linchpin → User Profiles → Profile editor.

1) Click on New profile field and choose Instant Messenger as the field type.

Hint: Don't forget to enter a field label!

2) For Instant messenger protocol, select either MS Teams (text chat) or MS Teams (video chat).

3) Optional: Enter what the link text should display. If you enter text here, it will be displayed instead of the user's MS Teams credentials.

An example for such a text could be: Start chatting with me.

4) Select the source. You can either select User input and let users enter their credentials themselves, or you can select an IdP, an LDAP server or an XML file in which you store such information.

If you choose to select either IdP, LDAP or XML, you will have to also enter the according information on where the information is stored exactly, like an according LDAP attribute.

If you select user select, your users will have to enter their MS Teams user handle in their profile.
