How many field types exist?

What are the benefits of the profile field type multi select ?

The multi select field type works similar to the select field type.

Users can choose from different options, but are not limited to only one choice.

It's a perfect field type for questions about any amount of specific things. For example: What languages do you speak? What software can you use?

Special configuration

In the section Field options, you can add options to the dropdown menu.

In the left field, enter the name of the option (for example: "Yes, I agree to be photographed.").

Then, click on the + button.

To re-order the options, click on the six dots button to the left of an option and re-position it via drag & drop. To delete an option, click on the delete button.

Use wildcards and logical operators to create more complex filters

Why should I use wildcards and logical operators?

Because the source format can take on multiple values, you have to add wildcards and logical operators in the menu structure, if you plan to use this for the personalization of the menu. You can get more info on wildcards and logical operators here

In the screenshots above you can see that the menu structure uses the wildcard "OR" to restrict the view for all people except those who have "Confluence OR JIRA" written in their profile in the "Applications" category. Only for those people the menu "Berlin" is visible.
